This website is divided into two sections.  This free section is about obtaining your CCDW permit in Kentucky.   The Self Defense Section is about the law of Justifiable Homicide and the use of Deadly Force in Self Defense and is under construction.  The Self Defense manual and audio is only available in the Self Defense Area.   Self Defense is a separate subject from how to obtain and maintain your concealed carry permit.  Only the Concealed Carry Section is complete. 

In order to obtain your CCDW permit in Kentucky you must take a class of instruction from a licensed KY CCDW instructor and file the Kentucky CCDW permit application.  But obtaining a permit is just a start.  You should become competent with guns, holsters and understand KY laws including states that offer reciprocity.  Add practicing with organizations like IDPA, and obtain a through knowledge of Self Defense laws and Justifiable Homicide LawOur website and chart explain step by step how to apply for your permit.  

The self defense section contains educational material on the legal use of deadly force in self defense.  Our Self Defense and Justifiable Homicide materials are not a part of the basic CCDW permit class and are not required to obtain the CCDW license.  Instead it is an additional manual, audio and/or class to further your education.  The self defense section contains the manual, audio and web pages covering the criminal and civil liability when you take on the responsibility of carrying a concealed deadly weapon for self defense using Kentucky's law as an example.  Essential Kentucky statutes and Kentucky and Supreme Court cases are shown.
