In order to obtain your Concealed Carry Deadly
Weapons permit under KRS 237.110 you must:

Obtain an
application from our Download Concealed Carry Forms Section
or go
to the local sheriff's office.

Make sure that you are
elligible

Has obtained a copy of KRS 237 and 503 and has read and
understands these provisions related to the use of deadly force in self
defense and the basic licensing laws.

Certify under oath that you received the training and to
the qualification for a CCDW. Providing false information or the
failure to report inadequate training is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by
12 months in jail. Failure to properly provide training is punishable
by 1-5 in prison.

Only 75 may be charged plus any costs for actual expenses
incurred such as materials and rental of the building plus a fee to the
range.

Any applicant must return the application to the Sheriiffs
office with a color photograph (Passport size) certification from the
training of completion of the training and a $60 fee. The Kentucky State
Police must then issue or notify the applicant and allow an appeal within 90
days. Any applicant has 30 days to appeal after any denial.

A license is good for five
years. Renewal also costs $60. Renewal procedures are similar to the
original application procedures except that the applicant for renewal does
not have to take the handgun training again.
