In order to obtain your Concealed Carry Deadly Weapons permit under KRS 237.110 you must:

  1. Be over  21 and a Citizen of the United States and Kentucky for at least the 6 months prior or a member of the Armed Services in Kentucky for 6 months prior to application and eligible to possess a firearm under KRS 537.040 and Federal law see 18 USC 922

You are not qualified for a Concealed Carry permit if:

  1. You are a convicted felon, are under indictment or are a fugitive.  A misdemeanor conviction for Assault in the fourth degree or terroristic threatening within 3 years prior to application will also disqualify you for a CCDW. 

  2. Conviction for domestic violence or a conviction for assault under 508.030 or 503.080 but KSP may determine that the applicant is not a danger and a waiver would not violate federal laws.

  3. Are an unlawful user of controlled substances or that is mentally defective.  Any conviction within the prior 3 years for drug possession or conviction of more than 2 DUI's or commitment for alcohol or drug abuse will disenfrachise the person for 3 years.

  4. Are an illegal alien or any citizen that has renounced his citizenship

  5. Have been discharged under dishonorable circumstances

  6. Not have violated KRS 189A.010 within 2 years prior to application more than 2 times or KRS 222 within 3 years These are the DUI and intoxication disqualifications

  7. Have no child support obligation with over 1 year of non payment or have a subpoena or warrant for paternity or child support
